This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as a representative for Plus Power’s Real Estate Team to meet the changing real estate needs within Plus Power’s project portfolio.
• Prepare and negotiate agreements including options to purchase, options to lease, purchase and sale agreements, leases, easements, crossing consents, amendments, and various other real property contracts.
• Assist the Real Estate Team in resolving intricate title and survey challenges.
• Aid the Real Estate Team during site acquisition closings.
• Collaborate with the Finance and Real Estate Teams to provide legal representation for all real estate issues related to project financing and tax equity investments.
• Guide and mentor the Counsel, Real Estate, enabling their professional success and growth.
• Select, engage, and supervise local and other external counsel.
• J.D. is mandatory.
• Minimum of 2 - 3 years of experience in a top-tier law firm specializing in a commercial real estate practice group.
• At least 3 – 5 years of experience in supporting real estate initiatives for utility-scale renewable energy development.
• In-depth experience in drafting, negotiating, and advising on purchase and sale agreements, option agreements, ground lease agreements, easements, amendments, and other real estate contracts.
• Strong background in title and survey examination, risk assessment, and resolution.
• Extensive experience negotiating title insurance policies, particularly concerning energy title policies for renewable energy and/or energy storage projects.
• Proven track record in supporting real estate matters in complex project financing scenarios.
• Significant experience advising on real estate components of intricate M&A transactions.
• Demonstrated capacity to collaborate effectively in a cross-functional environment with both technical and non-technical team members across various locations.
• Exceptional presentation and writing abilities.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
• Proficient in utilizing Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
