This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of the technical strategy for a specific engagement workstream and drive it towards an agreed target state.
• Collaborate with customer technical leadership regarding architecture, sequencing, and risk management.
• Evaluate designs, code, and infrastructure as code, establishing engineering standards.
• Make and document architectural decisions, trade-offs, and decisions that can be deferred.
• Create project plans with realistic milestones and dependencies alongside the Engagement Manager and customer.
• Ensure proper staffing levels are maintained and escalate any skill gaps as necessary.
• Guide consultants in areas of technical expertise, delivery discipline, and customer interaction skills.
• Ensure engagement quality and completion by tracking milestones, removing obstacles for teams, and leading remediation efforts.
• Coordinate technical execution with partner consultants and vendor teams within an Agile delivery framework.
• Contribute to AWS and partner resource utilization and the development of new delivery offerings.
• Design and implement AWS foundational environments utilizing Control Tower and Landing Zone Accelerator.
• Define and enact AWS multi-account architecture, including Organizations, OUs, account vending, SCPs, centralized logging, and security tools.
• Implement IAM, Identity Center, guardrails, and security baselines.
• Lead discovery processes for on-premises environments, dependency mapping, right-sizing, and migration wave planning.
• Choose and drive the migration strategies of rehosting or replatforming based on workload requirements.
• Supervise the replication of VMware and on-premises VMs into EC2, including image conversion and OS/driver remediation.
• Direct the replatforming efforts to RDS, ALB/NLB, and CloudFront.
• Manage hybrid connectivity design using Direct Connect, Site-to-Site VPN, Transit Gateway, DNS, and Active Directory integration.
• Oversee storage and database migrations while ensuring data integrity.
• Establish standards for Terraform, AWS CDK, pipeline automation, and operational readiness.
• Generate design documents, migration runbooks, diagrams, decision records, and hand-over guides.
• Over 10 years of experience in designing and operating infrastructure.
• More than 3 years of experience leading a technical workstream in customer-facing engagements.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Practical experience with AWS in a production environment.
• Experience in setting engagement technical strategies and coordinating with customer technical leadership.
• Proven experience in building AWS foundational environments utilizing Control Tower, Landing Zone Accelerator, AWS Organizations, and multi-account architecture.
• Demonstrated experience in cloud migration, particularly large-scale, multi-wave migrations is a strong advantage.
• Practical knowledge of rehost and replatform migration strategies.
• Experience with AWS Transform for VMware or substantial knowledge in this area is highly desirable.
• Hands-on experience with AWS Migration Hub, AWS Application Migration Service (MGN), and VM Import/Export.
• Strong understanding of AWS networking fundamentals, including VPC design, routing, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect/VPN, and DNS.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and AWS CDK.
• Proficiency in at least one scripting language: Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Current capability to review code and Infrastructure as Code.
• AWS certification is required.
• AWS Solutions Architect – Professional or DevOps Engineer – Professional certification is preferred.
• Must be eligible to work in the US for any employer.
• Must disclose whether current or potential employment visa sponsorship is required.
• Annual base salary ranging from $175,000 to $215,000 USD, exclusive of discretionary bonuses.
