This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Support senior engineers in creating data models and schemas, and engage in code reviews.
• Aid in optimizing SQL queries related to applications, storage, and network performance.
• Investigate and implement AI-driven tools and automation solutions to enhance efficiency in DataOps processes and minimize manual tasks.
• Adhere to established protocols for data quality, governance, testing, and continuous monitoring.
• Contribute to the assessment of existing systems and assist in implementing database designs that support our business applications.
• Follow prescribed data models, naming conventions, abbreviations, guidelines, and best practices.
• Help in converting logical data models into physical database structures.
• Keep an eye on data service expenses and notify senior team members of potential cost inefficiencies.
• Maintain and revise documentation for database architectures.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in cloud database design and implementation, which includes:
• Expertise in SQL database solutions such as Aurora PostgreSQL, Aurora MySQL, and Snowflake.
• Proficient in SQL and skilled in writing efficient queries; our tech stack includes MySQL, PostgreSQL, and SnowSQL.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IAC) frameworks; we utilize Terraform/OpenTofu.
• Strong background in relational database design and data modeling techniques.
• Experience with AI-powered tools and scripting for automation in areas like monitoring, alerting, or system maintenance.
• Knowledge of data security and governance methods.
• Experience in monitoring database systems and independently troubleshooting and resolving incidents; we leverage AWS services like RDS Database Insights and CloudWatch, as well as Datadog.
• AWS Certification is preferred.
