Database Administrator – Oracle

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Hungary.

📋 Description

• Act as the primary authority on Oracle databases for the product, providing guidance to development teams on SQL/PLSQL optimization, schema design, and integrated database tuning.

• Create and sustain database monitoring and observability systems, utilizing Oracle diagnostic and monitoring tools.

• Proactively detect and address performance, scalability, and reliability challenges.

• Lead the advanced troubleshooting of intricate database issues including performance degradation, locking, contention, and resource exhaustion.

• Establish and uphold database best practices and operational standards.

• Engage directly with customers to monitor, tune, and optimize Oracle instances in on-premises and private cloud settings.

• Collaborate with support and consulting teams; occasional onsite work at customer locations may be necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience as a Senior Oracle DBA / Database Performance Specialist.

• In-depth understanding of Oracle architecture, internals, SQL, and PL/SQL.

• Demonstrated proficiency in performance tuning, monitoring, and diagnostics tools (e.g., AWR, ASH, execution plans).

• Strong problem-solving abilities in production Oracle environments.

• Experience in customer-facing positions, with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Comfortable providing support for on-premise deployments and engaging in onsite interactions.
