This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.
• Oversee and maintain SQL Server databases within a cloud environment.
• Enhance database performance through index tuning, query optimization, and analysis of execution plans.
• Guarantee high availability of databases, along with replication and disaster recovery strategies.
• Monitor database health and performance utilizing SQL Profiler, Extended Events, and various monitoring tools.
• Collaborate closely with developers to refine database design, enhance query performance, and improve stored procedures.
• Manage database backups, restorations, and security policies to ensure data integrity.
• Automate database maintenance procedures to boost efficiency.
• Work together with data engineers and analysts to support data pipeline workflows.
• Ensure adherence to HIPAA, HITRUST, and other healthcare data security regulations.
• Diagnose database issues and deliver timely solutions.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience as a SQL Server DBA in a production setting.
• Extensive knowledge in index tuning, query optimization, and execution plan analysis.
• Familiarity with SQL Server high availability solutions such as Always On, clustering, and replication.
• Proficient in T-SQL scripting, stored procedures, and triggers.
• Experience in SQL Server backup and recovery methodologies.
• Knowledge of Azure SQL, Azure SQL Managed Instances, and other cloud-based SQL Server deployments (Azure SQL Database, Managed Instances, or AWS RDS for SQL Server).
• Understanding of best practices in database security, including role-based access control (RBAC), encryption, and auditing.
• Experience with large-scale transactional databases.
• Strong analytical skills and the capacity to work independently in a remote environment.
