Data Team Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Lead, mentor, and expand a high-performing team of data engineers and data scientists.

• Develop and steer the vision for data architecture, along with establishing technical standards and best practices throughout client engagements.

• Advocate for AI/ML initiatives by pinpointing opportunities for automation, modeling, and intelligent activation.

• Supervise the complete delivery of data platforms, pipelines, and tools across various client projects.

• Ensure robust data governance, security, and compliance within all workflows.

• Collaborate with CRM, Growth, and Strategy teams to synchronize technical delivery with business goals.

• Work closely with clients to convert business requirements into scalable technical solutions.

• Manage relationships with vendors and platforms within cloud, data warehouse, and CDP ecosystems.

• Enhance the performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness of data infrastructure and operations.

• Represent Massive Rocket’s data capabilities in discussions, proposals, and strategic engagements with clients.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of engineering leadership experience in data and AI contexts, showcasing a successful history of building, mentoring, and scaling high-performing cross-functional teams.

• More than 10 years of practical experience in data engineering, with in-depth knowledge of modern data platforms such as Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, as well as broader cloud ecosystems like AWS, Azure, or GCP.

• Profound understanding of data architecture, governance, security, and integration best practices, including familiarity with CDPs and tools such as Segment, mParticle, Hightouch, or similar.

• Experience in working with AI/ML ecosystems and orchestration frameworks, utilizing tools like Airflow, dbt, SageMaker, MLflow, MLOps practices, and contemporary DevOps methodologies.

• Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with the capacity to influence senior and C-level audiences, simplify complex technical ideas, and function effectively in agency or consultancy settings.

• A strategic and commercially savvy leader, able to balance scalability, technical proficiency, delivery priorities, and business results in dynamic, high-growth environments.
