Data Scientist – Remote Sensing

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Design and sustain high-quality machine learning and image analysis workflows for production use.

• Utilize statistical, machine learning, computer vision, or signal-processing methods on satellite and drone imagery datasets.

• Examine and process satellite imagery (SAR, optical, and others) or geospatial time series to identify, classify, and track physical activities and assets over time.

• Assist in the amalgamation of various satellite or drone data sources and diverse image types.

• Work alongside data engineers and software engineers to incorporate model outputs into APIs and products for customers.

• Enhance the robustness, performance, and interpretability of models over time.

• Convert research or experimental code into dependable, production-ready workflows.

• Record methodologies and disseminate knowledge to promote best practices across the team.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3–6 years of experience in data science, applied machine learning, computer vision, or remote sensing/geospatial engineering.

• High proficiency in Python for data processing, modeling, and pipeline development (numpy, pandas, scikit-learn, etc.).

• Extensive experience in data manipulation, cleaning, and feature engineering on real-world, noisy datasets.

• Familiarity with satellite imagery, geospatial data, and time-series datasets.

• Demonstrated ability to transform experimental or research code into production-ready workflows.

• Strong understanding of software engineering best practices (version control, testing, code review).
