Data Scientist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.

📋 Description

• Develop, sustain, and enhance dashboards and reports that provide stakeholders with clear and timely insights into performance.

• Write and optimize SQL and Python scripts to extract, transform, and analyze data from various sources.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to comprehend their inquiries, establish metrics, and convert requirements into analytics that influence decision-making.

• Ensure the quality and accuracy of data by validating, de-duplicating, and reconciling reporting outputs.

• Document analysis and reporting methodologies, and communicate findings effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.

⛳️ Requirements

• A degree or equivalent qualification in Data Science, Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative discipline.

• 3-5 years of practical experience in a data science, analytics, or business intelligence position.

• Strong, demonstrable SQL skills, including the ability to write complex queries and handle large datasets.

• Proficiency in Python for data analysis, manipulation, and automation tasks.

• Established experience in creating dashboards and reports using tools such as QuickSight, Metabase, or Power BI.

• A keen attention to data quality and accuracy, with the capability to convey insights clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

• Dedicated experience in business intelligence, including prior ownership of reporting or analytics responsibilities.

• Familiarity with data engineering or the construction and maintenance of data pipelines.

• Experience with API integration and automation would be advantageous.

• Knowledge of statistical modeling, forecasting, or machine learning techniques.

• Experience working in a remote, distributed team across various time zones.
