This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Take charge of the research and modeling initiatives that support Junction's most critical data science projects in diagnostics, clinical workflows, and AI-driven product features.
• Establish comprehensive frameworks for measurement, experimentation, and causal analysis, enabling us to differentiate between genuine insights and noise, ultimately leading to defensible decisions.
• Spearhead the creation of predictive models, segmentation strategies, risk assessment or routing logic, and other statistical systems that directly impact product and business strategies.
• Develop the analytical infrastructure that supports customer-facing features, from model development to validation and performance monitoring.
• Collaborate with engineering and data engineering teams to ensure that models and analytical systems are production-ready, reliable, and effective in real-world applications.
• Define how Junction assesses data-driven and AI-enhanced features, including methodologies, quality benchmarks, monitoring processes, and performance evaluations.
• Clearly communicate complex technical insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, addressing trade-offs, limitations, and actionable implications.
• Proven history of leading high-impact analytical projects that shaped product, operational, or business decisions.
• Strong foundational knowledge in statistical inference, experimental design, observational analysis, and model assessment.
• Proficient in Python and/or R, with hands-on experience working with large and complex real-world datasets.
• Experience in developing predictive or decision-support models in production or near-production settings.
• Demonstrated ability to closely collaborate with engineering teams to transition work from analysis or prototypes to deployed systems.
• Capable of navigating both strategic and operational levels: defining the roadmap while also diving into specifics when necessary.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; adept at explaining methods, findings, and trade-offs to both executives and technical colleagues.
• Comfortable working in a startup atmosphere characterized by ambiguity, minimal structure, and significant ownership.
