Data Scientist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.

📋 Description

• Design and implement experiments aimed at enhancing forecasting metrics within specific segments.

• Conduct feature engineering on extensive transactional datasets (~5M records in BigQuery).

• Develop user behavior models, which encompass segmentation, propensity, churn, and retention analysis.

• Assess models through rigorous temporal holdout methodologies and metrics at the segment level.

• Maintain comprehensive documentation of experiments that includes clear reasoning — hypotheses, outcomes, and decisions.

• Collaborate with the ML Engineer tasked with sustaining the architecture and production pipelines.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of practical experience in Machine Learning, specifically in forecasting, supervised learning on user data, or both.

• Proficient in Python, including libraries such as pandas, scikit-learn, XGBoost, statsmodels, and/or Prophet.

• Advanced SQL skills and familiarity with cloud platforms (GCP knowledge is an advantage).

• Strong judgment in model evaluation — you recognize that random train/test splits are unsuitable for time series data.

• Experience in performing feature engineering on transactional datasets.

• Capability to operate within an established framework and architecture without unnecessarily reinventing existing solutions.
