This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
• Collaborate with Clinical, Quality, and CDI teams to comprehend operational objectives and pinpoint areas where data science can provide support.
• Conduct statistical and machine learning analyses on clinical, claims, and various healthcare datasets.
• Implement causal inference, predictive modeling, risk stratification, time-series analysis, and data visualization techniques.
• Utilize clinical intelligence and pertinent literature to confirm cohort definitions, coding sets, and model features.
• Create and sustain SQL and Python code for reproducible analyses and production data pipelines.
• Present analytic findings through visual representations, presentations, and written summaries.
• Execute scripted and manual data quality assurance and validation checks for format, completeness, and accuracy.
• A Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or technical discipline such as Data Science, Statistics, Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Health Informatics, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
• Over 2 years of experience in applying data science, statistics, or advanced analytics to healthcare datasets.
• Proficient understanding of clinical workflows and terminology.
• Familiarity with clinical vocabularies and coding systems, including CPT, ICD-10-CM, SNOMED CT, RxNorm, LOINC, and NPI.
• Knowledge of healthcare operations, including care management, risk adjustment, quality improvement, revenue cycle, prior authorization, and value-based care.
• Expertise in SQL and Python.
• Basic understanding of Bash.
• Knowledge of applied statistics, including hypothesis testing, regression analysis, model evaluation, and causal inference.
• Experience with data integration and ETL processes, data normalization, SFTP, and API connections.
• Proficient in using Git-based source control tools like GitHub throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Familiarity with data quality assurance and validation processes.
• Exposure to AWS, GCP, or Azure platforms.
• Strong communication and presentation skills suitable for both clinical and technical audiences.
• Preferred: advanced degree or clinical licensure combined with formal data science education.
• Preferred: 2+ years of experience in a clinical care, clinical informatics, or CDI environment, or a degree, licensure, or certification in a related clinical field.
• Preferred: Experience with AWS services like S3, Lambda, and Step Functions.
• Preferred: Familiarity with Arcadia Analytics Foundry database.
• Preferred: Knowledge of Jira and Confluence.
