Data Scientist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Assist Empower’s Responsible AI (RAI) initiative by integrating directly with AI Factory teams.

• Ensure that AI and GenAI applications are secure, quantifiable, transparent, and adhere to Empower’s Responsible AI principles.

• Act as the Responsible AI data science collaborator for designated AI CoreWorks Factory teams.

• Aid in the incorporation of evaluation workflows, guardrails, and measurement practices.

• Implement evaluations concerning hallucination, fairness, contextual grounding, transparency, robustness, and other risks related to model behavior.

• Create benchmark datasets, evaluation scripts, and structured testing methodologies for uniform assessment across AI applications.

• Examine model architectures, data attributes, and inference workflows to guide evaluation design and interpretation of findings.

• Utilize machine learning, statistical, and experimental design techniques to evaluate model behavior and performance.

• Assess how training methodologies, data sources, model configurations, and deployment practices impact Responsible AI outcomes.

• Contribute to research, experimentation, and prototyping of innovative Responsible AI methods and evaluation techniques.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, data science, statistics, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent experience.

• Experience in developing, validating, or assessing machine learning models in production or pre-production settings.

• Strong expertise in Python and experience with data for machine learning analysis, experimentation, and evaluation.

• Familiarity with experimental design, statistical analysis, and model performance evaluation.

• Exposure to GenAI or LLM systems, encompassing model behavior analysis, safety testing, or explainability methods.

• Ability to work collaboratively with engineering, QA, and product teams in a matrixed structure.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
