This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.
• Design and maintain data pipelines utilizing Python to gather, process, and integrate data from various sources.
• Enhance current data workflows emphasizing quality assurance, sustainability, thorough documentation, and maintainability.
• Guarantee that analytic workflows are reproducible, well-organized, and scalable.
• Facilitate the responsible management of sensitive data in accordance with FERPA and AACOM data governance standards.
• Create dashboards and data visualization tools primarily using Tableau and Python.
• Support and improve existing dashboards, internal analytics tools, and client-facing data products.
• Convert intricate datasets into understandable and actionable visual insights.
• Transform established research designs into implementable analytic workflows.
• Clean, restructure, and validate complex administrative and survey datasets.
• Perform quantitative analyses with increasing autonomy over time.
• Contribute to applied research projects, including workforce studies, survey analysis, and text-based or NLP initiatives.
• Assist in the development and operationalization of statistical and/or machine learning models used in research and operational projects.
• Collaborate with colleagues from various AACOM departments to further strategic data and analytics initiatives.
• Foster a culture of innovation, ongoing learning, and process enhancement.
• Clearly and consistently document workflows, methodologies, and technical processes.
• Stay informed about emerging tools, technologies, and best practices in the fields of data science and analytics.
• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Public Health, or a related discipline; or equivalent professional experience.
• A minimum of three (3) years of experience working with Python and SQL.
• At least one (1) year of experience in building data models and utilizing advanced analytics, including machine learning or statistical modeling techniques.
• Strong expertise in Python and SQL.
• Experience with data manipulation, statistical analysis, machine learning, and data visualization libraries.
• Excellent data cleaning, validation, and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience handling structured datasets and relational databases.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS and/or Azure.
• Understanding of DevOps or deployment practices.
• Comfortable using contemporary AI-assisted tools when applicable.
• Ability to work autonomously, navigate ambiguity, and proactively solve problems.
• Strong attention to detail and documentation standards.
• Intellectual curiosity, adaptability, and receptiveness to feedback.
• Capability to manage sensitive data responsibly and in compliance with FERPA.
