Data Science Specialist I – Portfolio

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Create Data Science solutions that emphasize predictive and prescriptive elements, utilizing machine learning models (both supervised and unsupervised) and optimization methods that align with the strategic goals of the business;

• Implement all phases of the Data Science solution lifecycle: from comprehending business needs, conducting studies, and preparing features and variables, to constructing models and validating their performance, while providing essential support for deploying the solutions into production;

• Collaborate with business units to design the application and monitoring of models, ensuring that predictions and prescriptions yield genuine and sustained value;

• Recognize opportunities to leverage Generative AI and NLP as enhancers or analytical supplements in everyday solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong expertise in Statistics and Machine Learning (including both supervised and unsupervised predictive modeling);

• Proficiency in Python and SQL (with R being an advantage);

• Analytical and innovative mindset to devise structured solutions that cater to various business requirements;

• Excellent communication abilities to articulate complex findings in a clear manner;

• Authentic interest in business: eagerness to explore the processes, metrics, and key challenges of the business area you will be supporting;

• Familiarity with version control (Git) and understanding of Cloud environments;

• Experience in AI-assisted code development (such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, etc.).

• **DIFFERENTIALS:**

• Experience in prescriptive modeling and/or optimization models (operations research, simulations, decision algorithms);

• Hands-on experience with NLP (Natural Language Processing): traditional techniques (TF-IDF, embeddings) or transformer-based models;

• Knowledge of LLMs and Generative AI: utilizing frameworks (like LangChain, LlamaIndex), Prompt Engineering techniques, RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation), or fine-tuning applied to business scenarios.
