Data Science Manager – Market Origination

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the line setting strategy and ensure precision in projections for our fantasy markets, striking a balance between extensive coverage and high-quality competitive lines.

• Lead and cultivate a high-performing team of data scientists and analysts dedicated to market creation and prop origination.

• Oversee the development and implementation of projection models, along with expanding coverage across major sports and esports (NBA, NFL, MLB, CS2, etc.).

• Collaborate cross-functionally with teams in Product, Engineering, Pricing, and BizOps to initiate new markets and widen coverage.

• Direct experimentation related to line accuracy, prop selection, and coverage strategies to enhance engagement and expand the market catalog.

• Maintain and refine frameworks for projection accuracy, coverage quality, and market health monitoring.

• Ensure the integrity of data and the quality of modeling across all origination initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in sports betting, fantasy, or related gaming industries, preferably with a background in line setting, trading, or player performance modeling.

• Strong technical expertise in data science, statistics, or software engineering.

• Proven management experience with the ability to lead, mentor, and scale high-output teams.

• Proficiency in SQL and either Python or R; familiarity with predictive modeling, forecasting, and statistical methods.

• In-depth knowledge of the structure, origination, and modeling of player props and sports/esports markets.

• A successful history of steering complex projects from conception to launch in a fast-paced environment.

• Excellent communication skills, thriving at the intersection of data, product, and operations.
