Data Science Manager – Finance and Strategy

📋 Description

• Lead the roadmap and set priorities for your team while collaborating with various Stripe leaders across the organization to improve our data-driven capabilities.

• Work alongside stakeholders from different departments such as engineering, analytics, operations, finance, and marketing.

• Oversee and manage processes that enable the team to perform at its best and engage effectively with the broader Stripe community.

• Supervise a high-performing team of data scientists, helping them achieve technical excellence and progress in their careers.

• Partner with Stripe's recruiting team to attract and onboard exceptional data scientists.

• Play a role in wide-reaching data science initiatives as a member of Stripe's data science leadership team.

⛳️ Requirements

• You possess a minimum of 3 years of direct management experience leading data science or machine learning teams, along with 10 years of overall data science experience.

• You have proven expertise in designing metrics and influencing business decisions through data.

• You have the technical knowledge required to provide clarity to staff and senior scientists regarding architectural and strategic modeling choices.

• You have successfully managed teams that have developed and deployed machine learning systems and data products at scale, with hands-on experience tackling complex challenges.

• You excel in cross-functional collaboration and are adept at rigorous thinking to make tough decisions and trade-offs.

• You possess strong and persuasive communication skills, both in writing and verbally.
