Data Registrar – Cancer and Blood Disorder

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Gather and submit accurate data to national registries

• Organize, document, and input high-quality data for all eligible hospital cases into databases

• Collaborate closely with members of the Cancer and Blood Disorder teams to identify opportunities for clinical quality improvements and assist with special projects

• Provide management and clinical personnel with information to aid in decision-making, strategy formulation, health care quality evaluation, and clinical research

• Query clinical databases for system-wide inquiries

• Present data and interpret findings

• Develop ongoing data formats that cater to user requirements

• Utilize computer-based tools to maintain data quality and integrity

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree preferred, though not mandatory

• Current credentials or eligibility for RHIA, RHIT

• Strongly preferred experience in cancer care and terminology

• Required experience with clinical chart review and abstraction

• Previous experience with coding, nomenclatures, casemix analysis, and database query tools preferred

• Proficiency in PC usage required

• Ability to foster relationships and achieve alignment for clinical support

• Capability to articulate questions that elicit appropriate support from supervisors and colleagues

• Required experience with computers and the Internet

• Familiarity and comfort with technology to streamline workflow

• Proficiency in MS Word and Excel required

• Knowledge of PowerPoint and Access preferred

• Preferred experience in database data entry and basic statistical knowledge

• Preferred knowledge and experience in quality improvement or patient safety

• Successful completion of an occupational health assessment, drug screening, and background investigation is required for job offer

• Compliance with U.S. Government Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification, is required
