Data Protection and Privacy Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Deliver practical and commercially oriented guidance on GDPR, data protection, privacy, and information rights across various jurisdictions.

• Provide advice to stakeholders at all levels regarding intricate privacy matters.

• Assist in regulatory interactions.

• Oversee Data Protection Impact Assessments.

• Promote the integration of privacy by design throughout the organization.

• Manage requests related to data subject rights and address privacy complaints.

• Handle regulatory issues and notifications.

• Support and act on behalf of the Group Data Protection Officer when necessary.

• Contribute to the development of data protection strategies, policies, and compliance frameworks within Specsavers.

• Collaborate with senior leaders and stakeholders throughout the business.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of two years of experience in data protection and privacy.

• Comprehensive understanding of GDPR and its practical implementation in a business context.

• Proven experience in managing subject access requests, privacy complaints, regulatory notifications, and other data protection compliance initiatives.

• Capability to manage intricate stakeholder relationships.

• Ability to work autonomously.

• Confidence in providing counsel to colleagues at all business levels.

• Excellent communication skills.

• Experience in an in-house legal team, retail, healthcare, or technology sectors is highly advantageous.

• ISEB Practitioner level certification, CIPP accreditation, or familiarity with EU and international privacy frameworks would make you a strong candidate.

• A qualified lawyer or regulatory professional with specialized expertise in privacy.
