This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

• Take charge of performance optimization on the StarRocks serving layer utilizing AI-enhanced query profiling.

• Develop and strengthen data pipelines that support government cloud investigations.

• Serve as a secondary independent operator of the GovCloud serving layer to mitigate single points of failure.

• Manage and resolve issues within the production data infrastructure.

• Leverage AI-assisted debugging and log analysis to diagnose production problems and determine root causes.

• Work collaboratively with Forward Deployed Engineering and Product teams to ensure consistency between government cloud and commercial platforms.

• Engage in weekly incident and infrastructure reviews, asynchronous Slack updates, sprint planning, and post-incident reviews.

• Assist with compliance milestones, runbooks, database migrations, backup/restore pipelines, and changes to audit-log retention.

• Take part in on-call duties.

• U.S. citizenship is mandatory.

• Practical experience managing distributed OLAP or serving-layer systems like StarRocks, Trino, ClickHouse, or similar.

• Proven experience in query tuning and performance enhancement at scale.

• Experience in ensuring data pipeline reliability and managing incident responses.

• Proficiency in utilizing AI tools such as Claude, Cursor, or similar for debugging, code reviews, and documentation purposes.

• Capability to independently assume responsibility for unfamiliar production infrastructure.

• Skilled in using AI-assisted research and code exploration to quickly get up to speed.

• Openness and readiness to handle on-call responsibilities with minimal supervision.

• Applied AI fluency will be assessed during the interview process.
