Data Migration Engineer, Server

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.

📋 Description

• Oversee and provide support for VMware-based virtualized environments within both production and non-production systems.

• Carry out infrastructure and file server migrations, encompassing discovery, planning, migration, validation, and post-migration assistance.

• Conduct data migrations utilizing tools like Robocopy, RClone, and PowerShell scripts.

• Administer Windows file servers, managing NTFS permissions and Windows shares.

• Assist with Active Directory and Azure AD / Entra ID tasks related to access and migrations.

• Collaborate with networking, security, cloud, and external teams to ensure migration readiness.

• Develop and maintain technical documentation while providing updates to stakeholders.

• Engage in technical meetings and communicate efficiently with both technical and non-technical teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient English skills at a B2 level.

• Significant experience in VMware and Windows Server management.

• Familiarity with on-premise data center environments.

• Practical experience with file and data migrations.

• Understanding of Active Directory, NTFS permissions, and Windows shares.

• Proficient in PowerShell scripting and automation techniques.

• Basic knowledge of networking and VPN principles.

• Capability to work independently and manage tasks from start to finish.
