• Take ownership of and uphold the organization's data classification framework.
• Establish enforceable guidelines for AI tools across all levels of risk.
• Assist in the triage of AI tool requests.
• Maintain an up-to-date AI registry.
• Coordinate evaluations of vendor data handling practices.
• Ensure comprehensive documentation of PII and sensitive data guardrails prior to implementation.
• Oversee active tools to monitor for data boundary deviations.
• Identify shadow AI and report anomalies in access patterns to the Security and Data Governance teams.
• Collaborate closely with Data Engineering to ensure well-governed data pipelines and access controls.
• Work with the Legal team on updates to regulatory requirements.
• Partner with HR to enhance data literacy within AI training programs.
• Prepare materials for the Governance Board.
• Maintain internal policies and procedural guides.
• Monitor regulatory trends, including GDPR, EU AI Act, NIST AI RMF, and ISO 42001.
• 3-5 years of experience in data governance, data management, or compliance roles.
• 1-2 years of experience specifically in documenting enterprise-level data policies or classification frameworks.
• Experience in AI/ML governance is highly advantageous.
• Proficient in managing intake and workflows using ServiceNow or Jira.
• Skilled in utilizing Confluence or Notion for managing policies and processes.
• Familiarity with registry tools such as Airtable or similar spreadsheet-based systems.
• Comfortable using Miro for process documentation and cross-functional workshops.
• Proactively identifies gaps and addresses them independently, demonstrating exceptional organizational skills.
• Confident in collaborating across all organizational levels, from Data Engineering to the Governance Board.
• Experience in managing processes that involve multiple stakeholders.
• Ability to simplify complex data policies, classification principles, and regulatory concepts for non-technical audiences.
• Comfortable analyzing registry data, usage metrics, and risk criteria to draw actionable insights.
• Clear communicator with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
• Fluent in English (mandatory for leadership and client communication).
