Data Governance Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to advance governance and MDM initiatives that align with business and operational objectives.

• Contribute to stewardship processes, governance standards, and change management practices to enhance the consistency and trustworthiness of governed data assets.

• Assist in governance KPIs and operational reporting that assess data quality, ownership, and adoption.

• Manage governance workflows and metadata practices for one or more domains, including lineage coordination, dependency tracking, and operational stewardship activities.

• Aid in the development of metadata standards, glossary governance, and lineage documentation in collaboration with Platform and BI&A teams.

• Facilitate the adoption of governance tools and stewardship practices that enhance discoverability, accountability, and operational consistency.

• Contribute to governance controls, remediation workflows, and stewardship accountability processes for governed domains.

• Collaborate with Infrastructure, Platform, and BI&A teams to address operational governance requirements and promote trusted data practices.

• Support governance and compliance initiatives by enhancing consistency, traceability, and operational accountability for governed data assets.

• Coordinate governance activities among stakeholders and assist in operationalizing governance processes within business domains.

• Articulate the operational value of governance initiatives through documentation, enablement, and stakeholder engagement.

• Balance immediate governance needs with scalable process improvements that enhance trust and operational efficiency.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong grasp of Master Data Management, metadata management, reference data, and governance frameworks in multi-domain settings.

• Experience in operationalizing canonical data models, stewardship operating models, and governance policies within governed domains and workflows.

• Familiarity with metadata catalog tools like Atlan and enterprise lineage practices.

• Working knowledge of contemporary data architectures and the integration of governance with data engineering and analytics workflows.

• Foundational understanding of AI-assisted governance, entity resolution concepts, and how automation can bolster trusted MDM processes.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams while upholding governance accountability and operational consistency.

• Proven capability to translate governance requirements into clear narratives of business value.

• Excellent communication skills, capable of simplifying governance concepts for technical, operational, and business audiences.

• Demonstrated ability to manage priorities and foster accountability across matrixed stakeholders.

• Strategic and systems-oriented thinker with a strong operational discipline and attention to process consistency.

• Experience in independently driving governance initiatives or operational data management workflows across one or more domains.

• 4–6+ years of experience in data governance, MDM, analytics, operations, or related enterprise data roles.
