
Data Engineering Technical Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.
• Act as the principal technical authority and escalation contact for enterprise data engineering projects.
• Connect business needs, architectural guidelines, and engineering execution.
• Collaborate with business analysts, architects, BI teams, DevOps, and data engineers to ensure successful solution delivery.
• Clarify and interpret technical implementation requirements for data engineering teams.
• Direct implementation choices across Databricks pipelines, transformations, and data models.
• Evaluate engineering implementations for consistency, scalability, maintainability, and adherence to standards.
• Assist in troubleshooting and root cause analysis for data quality challenges, failed pipelines, performance issues, and production defects.
• Serve as L1/L2 support lead for operational issues related to the enterprise data platform.
• Conduct lineage and downstream impact analysis for changes in data models and pipelines.
• Steer the implementation of reusable engineering patterns, medallion architecture, and gold-layer datasets.
• Manage defect triage, release support, deployment validation, and production stabilization activities.
• Promote the adoption of engineering standards, CI/CD processes, governance controls, and operational best practices.
• Mentor and guide data engineers on technical implementation methods and enterprise standards.
• Promote uniformity across engineering teams, platforms, and data products.
• Document technical patterns, implementation standards, operational procedures, and support processes.
• Over 12 years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, BI engineering, or similar technical roles, with a degree in Engineering / Technology or a related field.
• Strong comprehension of enterprise data warehousing, dimensional modeling, and concepts related to modern data platforms.
• Practical experience with Databricks, Spark, Delta Lake, SQL, and Python.
• Background in supporting enterprise-scale data platforms and engineering teams.
• Excellent troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and technical problem-solving abilities.
• Experience in reviewing engineering implementations and guiding technical delivery.
• Knowledge of data lineage, dependency analysis, and downstream impact evaluation.
• Capability to translate business and reporting requirements into actionable engineering guidance.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills across both business and technical teams.
• Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD, release management, and deployment processes.
