Data Engineering Manager, Customer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Lead, mentor, and cultivate a team of Data Engineers, fostering career advancement, performance enhancement, and a collaborative team environment.

• Oversee the delivery of high-quality, scalable data solutions within the customer domain.

• Enhance AI-driven software development lifecycle methodologies to boost engineering productivity and expedite delivery.

• Remain actively engaged with the codebase and offer architectural direction.

• Assist the team in overcoming complex technical obstacles.

• Establish technical benchmarks for scalable, testable, reliable, and high-performance data solutions.

• Facilitate technical design discussions and convey decisions, trade-offs, and recommendations effectively.

• Foster a culture of accountability in engineering that emphasizes communication, collaboration, ownership, and ongoing improvement.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in technical management, encompassing direct people leadership, career development, coaching, and performance oversight.

• Robust background in Data Engineering.

• Practical experience with SQL across data ingestion, transformation, and delivery processes.

• Familiarity with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, or BigQuery.

• Knowledge of Kafka, Airflow, Terraform, Python, and Datadog.

• Hands-on experience with agentic coding workflows, including multi-step AI development loops to create, test, and deploy code beyond AI-assisted autocomplete.

• Technical acumen with mentorship, team-building, and effective communication skills.

• Capability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Experience with Customer 360 or Customer Data Platforms is an advantage.

• Strong sense of ownership and accountability, adaptability, and a continuous improvement mindset.

• May be required to obtain a gaming license issued by the relevant state authority as a condition of employment.
