Data Engineer, Mid-level

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.

📋 Description

• Develop and sustain ETL/ELT processes for integrating data from various systems.

• Design analytical data repositories for use in Power BI and other analytics platforms.

• Construct scalable, high-performance, and maintainable data models.

• Generate executive dashboards, metrics, and KPI frameworks.

• Conduct complex analyses to uncover inconsistencies, integration failures, and data quality concerns.

• Investigate the root causes of discrepancies between systems and recommend corrective measures.

• Manage large datasets, intricate relationships, and performance enhancements.

• Implement transformations utilizing SQL, Power Query, and Python as necessary.

• Work on the semantic layer using Azure Analysis Services when applicable.

• Contribute to the establishment of data architecture and modeling best practices.

• Document processes, business rules, data flows, and analytical models.

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on strategic Analytics and Business Intelligence initiatives.

• Mentor less experienced colleagues by sharing knowledge and best practices.

• Education: Bachelor’s degree completed — candidates from all disciplines are encouraged to apply.

• Strong background in Data Engineering and Business Intelligence.

• Proficient in advanced SQL.

• Experience in developing ETL/ELT processes.

• Familiarity with Terraform for infrastructure deployment.

• Understanding of dimensional modeling (Star Schema and Snowflake).

• Experience with Power BI.

• Development of transformations using Power Query.

• Knowledge of Python for automation and data processing.

• Proficient in version control using Git.

• Understanding of data warehouse modeling and design.

• Experience with large data volumes.

• Ability to analyze inconsistencies and troubleshoot data pipelines.

• Strong technical and functional documentation skills.

• Capability to propose innovative approaches, both technical and technological, to enhance BI and data engineering practices and deliver value to users and clients.
