This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Malaysia.
• Ensure compliance with global materials regulations for electronic products by overseeing product material data, supplier declarations, analytics, and regulatory submissions;
• Enhance data quality, automation, and decision-making processes across engineering, sourcing, and quality teams.
• Manage the compliance database by reviewing, analyzing, and correcting compliance data to uphold necessary data integrity and validity.
• Gather, validate, and maintain material compliance data (IPC-1752A/1754, CMRT/EMRT, declarations/certifications, FMDs) from suppliers.
• Develop scripts/ETL processes to automate data ingestion, deduplication, and validation from PLM/ERP and supplier portals (APIs, CSV/XML).
• Take ownership of materials compliance data related to product BOMs – Conduct gap/risk analysis, prioritize supplier outreach, and monitor closure to targets.
• Prepare and manage regulatory dossiers and customer responses for EU REACH/SCIP, RoHS, EU Battery Regulation, TSCA, Prop 65, WEEE, Conflict Minerals, and upcoming PFAS obligations.
• Create and maintain dashboards and reports (e.g., Power BI/Tableau) to monitor coverage, risk, and program KPIs.
• Integrate compliance checks into change control processes (PCNs/ECOs) and design-for-compliance evaluations.
• Assist with internal and external audits and provide training to engineering and sourcing teams.
• Collaborate with vendors/platforms (e.g., Assent, BOM check, Silicon Expert, Source Intelligence) to enhance coverage and data quality.
• Bachelor’s degree in Data Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Over 5 years of experience in data engineering, database development, or data platform management.
• Expertise in SQL, database design, data modeling, and data management ecosystems.
• Practical experience with MS Power BI, Power Query, DAX, etc.
• Hands-on ETL experience, including manual data processing using SQL and Python.
• Familiarity with engineered ETL pipelines or cloud-based ETL services (e.g., Azure Data Factory) is preferred.
• Experience with product BOM and PLM/ERP systems (SAP or Oracle) is a plus.
• Knowledge of Power Automate and Power Apps is an advantage.
• Familiarity with material compliance standards (e.g., RoHS, REACH, SCIP, TSCA, Prop 65, Conflict Minerals, PFAS) is beneficial but not required.
• Candidates should exhibit a strong willingness to learn in this domain.
• Proficiency in English (both written and verbal).
• Adaptable with strong initiative, keen attention to detail, and a passion for data accuracy, consistency, and governance.
