Data Engineer – Master Data Accountability

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Oversee the definition, governance, and evolution of master data within the company's key domains, serving as an architectural reference to ensure system-wide consistency, operational efficiency, and informed decision-making based on accurate data.

• Develop and enhance the company's Master Data Management (MDM) strategy.

• Identify and prioritize essential master data domains.

• Define entities, attributes, business rules, and official sources (systems of record).

• Create architectures for the generation, updating, and utilization of master data.

• Specify integration and synchronization standards (event-driven, APIs, batch).

• Establish and influence data ownership across business areas.

• Lead or provide guidance on MDM implementation projects (tools and processes).

• Set up and track data quality metrics.

• Focus on identifying root causes of issues rather than just addressing symptoms.

• Balance the need for structural fixes against manual data cleansing.

• Act as a resource for teams and architectures when adopting the master data model.

• Function as a liaison between business, data, and technology.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in advanced data modeling (conceptual, logical, and physical).

• Knowledgeable in integration architecture (APIs, events, streaming, ETL/ELT).

• Expertise in Data Governance and Data Quality (frameworks, metrics, processes).

• Practical experience with MDM (matching, deduplication, survivorship rules, Golden Record).

• Strong SQL capabilities and experience in data analysis.

• In-depth understanding of master domains (customer, product, asset, organization).

• Familiarity with MDM tools (desirable).

• Ability to translate complex business rules into data architecture.

• Experience in distributed architecture and complex environments.
