Data Engineer Manager – AWS, Databricks

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Lead, mentor, and actively participate in the efforts of a team of data engineers.

• Establish coding standards, architectural guidelines, and best practices in data engineering.

• Define and steer the technical vision for Journey Analytics data platforms.

• Create and implement scalable solutions for data engineering.

• Maintain, enhance, and automate GitHub code repositories.

• Refactor outdated codebases to boost maintainability, scalability, and reusability.

• Design and develop modular, reusable data components for various journeys.

• Build and oversee automated Databricks data pipelines.

• Design and implement scalable data models for analytics and reporting purposes.

• Ensure data quality, governance, performance, and reliability across all pipelines and datasets.

• Collaborate with analytics, product, and engineering partners.

• Identify risks, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement, and implement mitigation strategies.

• Enhance data processes, documentation, and engineering practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in Data Engineering.

• Extensive experience managing GitHub repositories and version control workflows.

• Practical experience in developing and maintaining data pipelines within Databricks.

• Demonstrated experience in refactoring and upkeeping legacy codebases.

• Strong comprehension of data modeling and the design of reusable components.

• Experience in creating scalable data models tailored for analytics and reporting scenarios.

• A keen focus on data quality, performance, and reliability.

• Ability to work effectively in cross-functional environments and contribute to ongoing improvements.

• Capacity to work autonomously and own initiatives after receiving high-level guidance, driving tasks forward with minimal supervision.

• Experience with Genie (Databricks) is a plus.
