This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Contribute to the design, architecture, and implementation of solutions, data standards, and strategies within the team and department.
• Engage in data stewardship workgroups along with data management and governance initiatives.
• Advocate for metadata and data quality practices through knowledge-sharing sessions and lunch-and-learn events.
• Comprehend the business culture and priorities of stakeholders to apply suitable modeling techniques for defining data quality requirements.
• Take ownership of engineering success for data governance initiatives, including metadata/cataloging and data quality programs.
• Conduct research and create glossary definitions, policies, programs, standards, guidelines, and workflows.
• Lead the creation and upkeep of metadata catalogs.
• Identify and evaluate organizational data challenges and support the development of remediation plans.
• Work collaboratively with subject matter experts to establish business rules that measure and ensure data quality.
• Facilitate conversations with end users and data modelers.
• Assess and classify reported data quality issues while developing and presenting program metrics that demonstrate progress and compliance.
• Set daily objectives and manage responsibilities independently, exercising discretion within established procedures.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or an equivalent amount of relevant work experience.
• At least three years of experience in designing and developing ETL and/or BI solutions.
• Experience in the definition, design, implementation, testing, and deployment of complex databases, ETL, BI, and analytical solutions.
• Experience in the healthcare payer sector is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to write complex SQL queries.
• Experience in developing medium to complex data quality profiling or metadata analysis processes with a leading industry tool.
• Capacity to manage multiple medium to large-scale projects effectively.
• Strong understanding of data management and governance principles, particularly concerning data quality and metadata management.
• Familiarity with relational database theory.
• Ability to build effective working relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication, listening, and critical-thinking abilities.
• Competence in prioritizing and executing tasks both independently and within a collaborative team environment.
