This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.
• Develop and Maintain Pipelines: Construct and sustain efficient, scalable data pipelines for applications such as fraud detection.
• Support Fraud Analytics: Empower analysts and product teams to recognize and tackle emerging fraud patterns through engineered datasets.
• Integrate Detection Models: Collaborate with teams to operationalize external fraud detection models and incorporate them into the data infrastructure.
• Data Storage Optimisation: Design and enhance data storage solutions for analyzing fraud signals and managing historical data.
• Feature Engineering: Generate fraud-specific datasets and features to improve detection accuracy while assisting business and analytics teams.
• Pipeline Monitoring and Optimisation: Oversee fraud data pipelines to ensure system reliability and address performance issues.
• Best Practices Documentation: Establish and record best practices for data engineering related to fraud.
• Cross-Team Collaboration: Work alongside data, product, and engineering teams to proactively respond to fraud trends.
• 3+ years of experience as a data engineer with expertise in fraud detection systems or a related field.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL, along with knowledge of orchestration and transformation tools (e.g., Apache Airflow, DBT).
• Strong understanding of database design, query optimization, and ETL/ELT workflows, ideally encompassing relational databases like MySQL and columnar databases such as ClickHouse.
• Experience in building and maintaining production data pipelines.
• Familiarity with utilizing machine learning models, primarily as part of a broader data pipeline, including model registries such as MLflow.
• Knowledge of CI/CD processes for data pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with data visualization platforms for trend reporting (e.g., Tableau, Superset, Metabase).
• Ability to assist with model serving components, such as Flask or FastAPI.
• Familiarity with statistical methods for fraud trend analysis and reporting.
• Experience with Git and version control in collaborative environments.
