Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and manage scalable data pipelines utilizing GCP ETL tools such as Cloud Dataflow, Dataprep, or Dataproc.

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to comprehend data requirements and implement solutions via GCP services to bolster data-driven projects.

• Enhance data models and architecture for optimal performance and reliability within the Google Cloud Platform.

• Construct and sustain data warehouses, data lakes, and various data storage solutions on Google Cloud Platform.

• Ensure the quality, integrity, and security of multiple datasets within GCP.

• Identify and rectify performance bottlenecks in data infrastructure, specifically pertaining to GCP ETL tools.

• Collaborate closely with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to address their data requirements within the GCP ecosystem.

• Keep abreast of the latest GCP technologies and trends in data engineering while implementing best practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a comparable role, with a strong emphasis on Google Cloud Platform.

• Proficient in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.

• Strong experience with SQL databases within GCP (MySQL / PostgreSQL).

• Practical experience with GCP data pipeline and workflow management tools like Cloud Dataflow, Dataprep, or Dataproc.

• Expertise in developing and optimizing big data solutions within GCP utilizing technologies such as BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, etc.

• Comprehensive understanding of GCP data warehousing concepts and methodologies.

• Exceptional problem-solving abilities and the capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment within GCP's ecosystem.

• Experience in report generation transitioning from Oracle to Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).

• Familiarity with technologies including, but not limited to:

• Database - Microsoft SQL Server.

• Data Integration, Transformation, and Data Workflow Automation - Microsoft Server Integration Services (SSIS).

• Report Generation - Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), PowerBI.

• Preferred qualifications include:

• Google Cloud certifications such as Professional Data Engineer or Associate Cloud Engineer.

• Experience with additional GCP services beyond ETL tools.

• Understanding of machine learning concepts and frameworks within GCP.
