Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Belgium.

📋 Description

• Develop and sustain our central data ecosystem.

• Create, expand, and manage high-value data products.

• Convert raw data into an advanced semantic layer for business intelligence and AI projects.

• Design and enhance ETL/ELT pipelines for extensive data sets.

• Aid in the creation of secure data architectures.

• Establish data quality controls and manage metadata.

• Oversee and optimize data platforms for improved performance.

• Engage in code reviews and maintain documentation.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3–5 years of relevant professional experience in data engineering or a similar role.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a STEM field, or a related quantitative discipline.

• Strong practical experience with Databricks (including PySpark, Delta Lake, and Unity Catalog).

• Advanced SQL proficiency along with a solid grasp of data modeling techniques (such as Dimensional and Star Schema).

• Expertise in at least one leading cloud provider (AWS, GCP, Azure) and orchestration tools (like dbt or Airflow).

• Significant experience with various RDBMS platforms (e.g., PostgreSQL, SQL Server).

• Familiarity with version control systems (Git), CI/CD processes, and containerization (Docker).

• Knowledge of data versioning and schema evolution in a distributed environment.
