This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design and sustain ingestion pipelines and Python services deployed on AWS (Lambda, ECS).
• Create and oversee dbt models within our Snowflake data warehouse, ensuring thorough tests and documentation.
• Assume operational accountability — engage in the on-call rotation, troubleshoot pipeline failures, and contribute to post-mortem analyses.
• Collaborate with our BI / Analytics Engineering team to convert their requirements into dependable data engineering tasks.
• Transition autonomously scheduled tasks and pipelines into Airflow DAGs as we standardize orchestration processes.
• Enhance our CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions) and uphold team standards.
• Guide newer team members and assess their work.
• At least 2 years of experience as a Data Engineer (or in a closely related role such as backend engineering with significant data responsibilities, analytics engineering, etc.).
• Proficient in Python — you are a programmer, not just someone who can write SQL. You can produce clear, testable Python code and are familiar with idiomatic patterns.
• Advanced knowledge of SQL — you have crafted complex queries for a cloud data warehouse, understand window functions, joins, and can write efficient SQL.
• A conceptual grasp of CI/CD pipelines — while you may not have built one yourself, you understand their function and significance.
• Experience with a cloud data warehouse (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, etc.); Snowflake is preferred.
• Comfortable working in a cloud computing environment, ideally AWS.
• A bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
• Comprehensive benefits package: medical, dental, vision, effective from day 1 of employment, 401K with matching contributions, generous PTO along with paid holidays, paid parental leave, and more!
