Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pakistan.

📋 Description

• Design, construct, and maintain scalable and dependable data pipelines to facilitate analytics, machine learning models, and business reporting.

• Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to guarantee that data is accessible, clean, and optimized for subsequent use.

• Execute data quality checks, monitoring, and validation processes.

• Work alongside cross-functional teams to create efficient ETL/ELT workflows utilizing modern data tools.

• Integrate data from various sources (databases, APIs, third-party tools) into centralized storage solutions (data lakes/warehouses).

• Support cloud-based infrastructure for data storage and retrieval.

• Monitor, troubleshoot, and enhance existing data pipelines to manage large-scale, real-time data flows.

• Apply best practices for query optimization and cost-effective data storage.

• Ensure data is readily available and accessible for critical business operations.

• Partner with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to comprehend data requirements.

• Document data workflows, schemas, and best practices.

• Foster a culture of data reliability, governance, and security.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in **Python** and **SQL** for data engineering activities.

• Strong grasp of **ETL/ELT processes**, data warehousing, and data modeling.

• Practical experience with **cloud platforms** (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and data storage solutions (BigQuery, Redshift, Snowflake, etc.).

• Familiarity with **data orchestration tools** such as Airflow and Airbyte **is essential.**

• Experience with **containerization & deployment tools** (Docker, Kubernetes) is advantageous.

• Knowledge of **data governance, security, and best practices** for managing sensitive data.

• Comfortable working with Git and GitHub.

• **Dataform is essential.**

• Strong ability to gather requirements from cross-functional stakeholders and convert them into actionable data engineering tasks.
