Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Extracting, cleansing, and loading data.

• Creating data pipelines using SQL, Kafka, and various other technologies.

• Investigating and resolving issues related to data and data pipelines.

• Researching and documenting new data sets.

• Implementing new data transformation configurations or generating ad-hoc reports.

• Managing incoming bugs and incidents.

• Participating in sprint refinement, planning, and kick-off meetings to assist in estimating stories, raising awareness, and defining additional implementation details.

• Monitoring the execution and performance of data pipelines, collaboratively resolving any issues that arise.

• Conducting and implementing data quality checks to ensure consistent and accurate data.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong understanding of modern relational and non-relational models and the distinctions between them.

• Proficient in writing complex SQL, including pivots, window functions, and intricate date calculations.

• Skilled in analyzing and interpreting flat file data structures.

• Experienced with EDI X12 formats relevant to healthcare claims processing.

• Proficient in Excel and knowledgeable about analytical tools such as Tableau, MicroStrategy, and PowerBI.

• Familiar with API usage for healthcare data integration, including data parsing and conversion.

• Knowledgeable about EFT file movement principles and tools, including encryption.

• Capable of translating data movement and transformation concepts and details from existing to new technology stacks.

• Able to effectively communicate data-related concepts and details with internal colleagues as well as external data partners and vendors.

• Detail-oriented with the ability to scrutinize data and code for quality and accuracy.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in data engineering.

• ETL experience is preferred.

• Git experience is preferred.

• A SW certification or degree in IT or a related field in Computer Science.
