This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Italy.
• You will become a part of our pricing and underwriting sector, facilitating the connection between machine learning/data science and engineering.
• Your role will involve constructing, publishing, and maintaining our intricate data products and pipelines, which play a crucial role in the company's expansion.
• You will be instrumental in designing the architecture of data products aimed at data analytics and data science, specifically targeting use cases such as forecasting, feature engineering, customer behavior, and the integration of new data sources.
• You will lead data transformation initiatives by establishing best practices in areas such as data modeling, performance optimization, and data governance, ensuring that the data utilized within Prima is consistent, accessible, and trustworthy.
• Your responsibilities will include creating reusable technology that allows teams to ingest, store, transform, and serve their own data products.
• You will collaborate with data scientists and machine learning engineers to navigate the product landscape and refine data requirements for improved data infrastructure.
• You will embrace continuous learning and experimentation to remain informed about emerging technologies, from testing open-source tools to participating in community-building events like Meetups. Your enthusiasm for remaining at the cutting edge of the field will guide your career journey.
• Proficient in batch, distributed data processing, and near real-time streaming data pipelines utilizing technologies such as Kafka, Flink, and Spark. Experience with Databricks is an advantage.
• Demonstrated experience in implementing Data Lake/Big Data Analytics platforms using cloud-based solutions, preferably AWS.
• Strong skills in Python programming and adherence to software engineering best practices.
• In-depth knowledge of RDBMS, Data Warehousing, and Data Modeling with relational SQL (Redshift, PostgreSQL) as well as NoSQL databases.
• Proficient in DevOps, CI/CD pipeline management, along with expertise in industry-best practices for infrastructure as Code (IaC) deployment.
• Practical experience in Data Quality and Data Governance techniques. (Nice-to-Have)
• Familiarity with MLOps and Feature Engineering. (Nice-to-Have)
• Exposure to common data analysis and ML technologies such as scikit-learn, pandas, NumPy, XGBoost, and LightGBM. (Nice-to-Have)
• Familiarity with tools like Apache Oozie and Apache Airflow. (Nice-to-Have)
