Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the entire data pipeline and platform implementation for cloud-based analytics and data platform projects for enterprise clients.

• Convert business needs into technical data engineering solutions that are in line with phData methodologies, standards, and best practices.

• Ensure that projects are completed on schedule, remain within scope, and deliver measurable business value to clients.

• Work collaboratively with data engineers, analytics engineers, data scientists, solution architects, and project managers to achieve successful client outcomes.

• Provide technical guidance during architecture and design workshops, discovery sessions, and project execution.

• Maintain high standards in deliverables through code reviews, documentation, testing, governance, and operational practices that are production-ready.

• Collaborate with practice and account leaders to identify opportunities for expanding data engineering engagements, enhancing delivery quality, and standardizing reusable patterns and frameworks.

• Participate in internal initiatives such as intellectual property development, accelerators, reference architectures, playbooks, and internal training and mentoring programs.

• Represent phData with professionalism in all interactions, ensuring clear communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3–4 years of experience as a Data Engineer, focusing on designing, building, and deploying data solutions to production.

• Proficient programming skills in Python and/or Scala for data engineering tasks.

• Practical experience with core cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, AWS, Azure, and Databricks.

• Advanced SQL capabilities, including writing, debugging, and optimizing complex queries.

• Experience in developing comprehensive technical solutions emphasizing performance, security, scalability, and robust data integration.

• Skilled in creating detailed technical documentation, such as solution designs, proofs of concept, roadmaps, sequence diagrams, logical system views, and related artifacts.

• Proven experience delivering projects for external or internal clients within a professional services or consulting setting.

• Ability to decompose complex issues into structured, actionable steps and see them through to completion.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Competence in creating and presenting clear, client-facing presentations and solution demonstrations for both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Demonstrated effectiveness in working with distributed and cross-functional teams.

• A proven history of taking initiative, managing multiple priorities, and producing high-quality work with minimal supervision.

• A 4-year Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
