Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Design and uphold optimal data pipeline architecture integrating multiple data sources.

• Compile extensive, intricate data sets that fulfill both functional and non-functional business requirements.

• Recognize, conceptualize, and execute internal process enhancements: automating manual tasks, optimizing data delivery, redesigning infrastructure for improved scalability, etc.

• Construct the necessary infrastructure for efficient extraction, transformation, and loading of data from diverse data sources.

• Implement robust data validation and verification procedures to ensure data accuracy for reporting.

• Create and sustain data warehousing methodologies, including data modeling and pipelining for storage and retrieval.

• Maintain data segregation and security in accordance with best practice guidelines.

• Verify the accuracy of data sourced from information providers, coordinating with other business functions when needed.

• Actively stay informed about the latest advancements in cloud data technology.

• Offer support, documentation, and training to relevant team members as required to achieve overall objectives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in constructing and sustaining ETL/ELT pipelines within an automated workflow handling high-volume, high-dimensional data from various sources.

• Solid understanding of how data management, cleansing, and query optimization impact pipeline and data model design.

• Good grasp of dimensional modeling and slowly changing dimensions.

• Familiarity with cloud technologies, particularly Azure and AWS (preferred).

• Proficient in scripting languages (e.g., Python, PySpark).

• Strong problem-solving skills demonstrated through the design and implementation of solutions to data-related challenges.

• Experience with CI/CD technologies and source control, such as Liquibase and Jenkins.

• Ability to apply infrastructure knowledge to develop and maintain an efficient working environment.

• Capable of modeling datasets for use in various visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Apache Superset).

• Excellent stakeholder management skills.

• Highly numerate and logical thinking abilities.

• Skillful in clearly communicating and presenting outcomes to stakeholders.

• Experience working in fast-paced environments with strict deadlines.

• Team-oriented with effective communication skills for both technical and non-technical colleagues.

• Enthusiastic about continuous improvement, collaboration, and knowledge sharing at all levels.

• Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, self-review work, and deliver high-quality outputs under tight deadlines in high-pressure environments.

• Familiarity with some of the following technologies would be advantageous: AWS Glue, AWS RDS, AWS Aurora, AWS S3, Amazon Athena, Amazon EMR, PostgreSQL, Python, Bitbucket, Liquibase, Jenkins, Lucid chart.

• Experience in creating deliverables using visualization tools like Tableau, PowerBI, or open-source BI tools such as Apache Superset is desirable.
