Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Greece.

📋 Description

• Troubleshoot intricate data warehouse ETL processes, business logic errors, and data flows to swiftly address issues.

• Oversee large-scale processing systems and implement scalable data solutions.

• Design and create infrastructure that facilitates the access and analysis of big data.

• Develop and sustain technical specification documentation for all reports and processes.

• Create dataset procedures that enable data mining, modeling, and production.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Informatics, or a closely related field.

• 2 - 5 years of experience in data engineering.

• Proficiency in logical and physical database design.

• Understanding of data management principles (e.g., permissions, recovery, security, and monitoring).

• Experience handling large volumes of structured and unstructured data, including integrating data from various sources.

• Familiarity with relational and non-relational databases (SQL, MySQL, NoSQL, Hadoop, MongoDB, etc.).

• Capability to resolve complex networking, data, and software challenges.

• Strong command of the English language, both written and spoken.

• Completion of military obligations, if applicable.

• Experience with Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure, Snowflake, dbt, BigQuery, and Microsoft Fabric (Desirable).

• Experience with Spark, the Hadoop ecosystem, and similar frameworks (Desirable).

• Knowledge of Python, Kafka, Scala, or Java, along with a willingness to learn new programming languages to achieve goals and objectives (Desirable).

• Previous working experience in telecommunications (Desirable).
