Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and sustain scalable data pipelines for both batch and streaming processes.

• Create and enhance data models within a contemporary cloud data warehouse environment.

• Construct dependable ELT/ETL workflows and oversee their orchestration using tools such as Airflow, Dagster, or similar.

• Collaborate with analytics, product, and engineering teams to provide accurate and reliable datasets.

• Execute data quality assessments, monitoring, and alerting mechanisms throughout the pipelines.

• Manage sensitive data with care and assist in maintaining privacy and compliance standards, such as those aligned with HIPAA.

• Play a key role in advancing the overall data architecture of the platform.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 4 years of professional experience in data engineering.

• Proficient in SQL and possess strong skills in Python.

• Practical experience with a modern cloud data stack, including tools such as Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift, as well as dbt and orchestration tools like Airflow.

• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.

• Proven ability to build reliable and well-documented data pipelines at scale.

• Strong proficiency in written and verbal English, suitable for daily collaboration with a U.S.-based team.

• Located in Latin America with the capacity to work during U.S.-overlapping hours.

• Nice to have:

• Experience in healthcare, health technology, or other regulated data environments.

• Knowledge of streaming technologies such as Kafka, Kinesis, or Pub/Sub.

• Background in infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD for data workflows.

• Exposure to machine learning pipelines or feature engineering.
