Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take a significant role in developing and managing data pipelines as well as analytics infrastructure.

• Collaborate closely with software engineers, radar and catalog teams, and data scientists.

• Ensure the dependable extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) of essential datasets.

• Create scalable batch and streaming data workflows.

• Facilitate advanced analytics and support machine learning projects.

• Convert extensive sensor and orbital data into actionable insights.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be eligible to obtain and retain a U.S. personnel security clearance.

• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or comparable experience.

• 0-2 years of experience in data engineering, software engineering, analytics engineering, or other related technical positions.

• Experience in designing and developing data pipelines or ETL/ELT workflows.

• Practical experience with Databricks, Apache Spark, or distributed data processing frameworks.

• Proficient in Python and SQL for data transformation and analysis.

• Familiar with data modeling concepts and modern data lake or warehouse architectures.

• Experience in cloud-native environments (AWS preferred).

• Knowledge of software development best practices, including version control, testing, and CI/CD.

• Strong analytical mindset with the capability to troubleshoot complex data challenges.

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with distributed engineering teams.

• Willingness to participate in operational support rotations during critical incidents.
