Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Design and sustain scalable data pipelines, transformations, and reporting models utilizing dbt, SQL, Python, and Snowflake.

• Create and refine data ingestion workflows, API integrations, and CDC pipelines by adhering to established engineering frameworks and best practices.

• Execute data quality checks, testing, monitoring, and observability mechanisms to ensure the reliability and trustworthiness of data products.

• Craft and uphold analytics-ready data models, including reporting marts and dimensional models that facilitate business insights.

• Utilize AI-driven development tools like GitHub Copilot and Claude to enhance productivity, code quality, and documentation.

• Work collaboratively with analysts, BI teams, and stakeholders to define metrics, clarify business logic, and deliver effective data solutions.

• Aid in data governance, compliance, and platform reliability by adhering to data contracts, security standards, and engineering best practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 4 years of experience in Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, or a relevant field.

• Proficient in SQL, with skills in complex joins, aggregations, CTEs, and window functions.

• Practical experience with dbt for data transformation, testing, and documentation.

• Hands-on experience with cloud data warehouses, ideally Snowflake.

• Experience in developing data workflows and automation using Python.

• Familiarity with orchestration tools such as Airflow and Git-based development workflows.

• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative attitude.

• Experience with AWS services.

• Exposure to data governance, data contracts, and compliance frameworks.

• Experience utilizing AI coding assistants and incorporating AI into engineering workflows.

• Knowledge of contemporary observability and monitoring practices for data platforms.
