This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.

• Design, construct, and sustain robust and scalable data pipelines along with ETL/ELT workflows.

• Develop and oversee data warehousing solutions that cater to business intelligence and analytical needs.

• Ensure the quality, integrity, and accessibility of data across all systems and sources.

• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and product teams to comprehend and meet data requirements.

• Enhance query performance and database architecture for optimal speed and efficiency.

• Monitor, troubleshoot, and rectify failures and incidents within data pipelines.

• Implement and uphold best practices for data governance, security, and compliance.

• Document data models, processes, and infrastructure to facilitate team knowledge sharing.

• Over 4 years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a comparable data infrastructure position within a technology company.

• Strong expertise in SQL along with proficiency in at least one programming language, such as Python or Scala.

• Practical experience in constructing and managing ETL/ELT pipelines using tools like Apache Airflow, dbt, or similar.

• Familiarity with cloud data platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, and data warehouses like Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift.

• Comprehensive understanding of data modeling, schema design, and database optimization.

• Excellent problem-solving abilities, capable of managing complex and high-volume data environments.
