This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Guidehouse is in search of a Data Engineer to assist in the development, optimization, and maintenance of data pipelines, cloud-based solutions, and analytics platforms.
• Design, create, and sustain efficient data pipelines and ETL processes for the ingestion, transformation, and loading of data from various sources.
• Construct and enhance data architectures and models to meet analytics, reporting, and operational requirements.
• Implement and oversee CI/CD pipelines for data engineering workflows utilizing tools such as Jenkins, Maven, and Git.
• Develop and deploy cloud-based solutions using AWS (S3, Lambda, ECS, SQS), Azure (CosmosDB, Functions), and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Collaborate with DBAs and application developers to design and integrate data models, stored procedures, and APIs.
• Ensure the quality, integrity, and security of data through thorough validation, monitoring, and logging (e.g., Splunk, CloudWatch, Kibana).
• Assist in data migration, integration, and modernization initiatives, including upgrades of legacy systems and cloud adoption.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in production environments to maintain high availability and reliability.
• Document data flows, processes, and technical solutions for knowledge sharing and compliance purposes.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and best practices in data engineering, cloud, and DevOps.
• U.S. Citizenship or Green Card is mandatory.
• A bachelor’s degree is required.
• A minimum of EIGHT (8) years of experience in data engineering, software development, or related fields is essential.
• Proficient in programming languages and technologies, including Java, Python, SQL, and PySpark, along with API development (RESTful and SOAP).
• Strong practical experience in designing and developing data pipelines and ETL processes.
• Extensive experience with relational and NoSQL databases, including Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and MongoDB, with a focus on data modeling and stored procedure development.
• Demonstrated expertise with AWS cloud services, such as S3, Redshift, Lambda, ECS, and SQS.
• Experience with Databricks and large-scale data processing environments is required.
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with CI/CD tools and pipelines, including Jenkins, Maven, Git, GitHub, and Bitbucket.
• Hands-on experience with monitoring and logging tools, such as Splunk, CloudWatch, Kibana, and Elasticsearch.
• Proven experience working in Agile development environments.
• Familiarity with version control and collaboration tools, including Git, Jira, and Confluence.
• Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
