Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Bulgaria.

📋 Description

• Design, construct, and oversee data pipelines throughout the ingestion, transformation, and delivery stages.

• Implement transformations that enforce business rules and generate clean, governed datasets.

• Ensure that pipelines are efficient, observable, and sustainable.

• Create data quality checks, tests, and validations to fulfill data contracts and meet business needs.

• Investigate and resolve data quality challenges in both development and production environments.

• Follow established engineering standards, naming conventions, and code review practices.

• Ensure all work is well-documented, version-controlled, and maintainable by the team.

• Collaborate with engineering and data stakeholders on the design of pipelines and data requirements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Practical experience in data engineering (3-6 years) with exposure to Databricks in a production setting.

• Proficient in Spark SQL with demonstrated experience in building data pipelines.

• Experience with at least one data transformation framework (e.g., DBT, DLT, Spark SQL, or similar).

• Strong understanding of data modeling concepts (dimensional, relational, or entity-based).

• Familiarity with version control systems (Git) and best engineering practices.

• Ability to work effectively within a structured and standards-driven delivery environment.
