Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• Development and maintenance of ELT/ETL processes in cloud environments: Design, implement, and maintain scalable data integration and transformation workflows, ensuring their efficiency, reliability, and alignment with business needs.

• Data model design and optimization in Snowflake: Build and evolve robust and efficient data models, ensuring optimized storage, high performance, and proper information governance.

• Development of transformations and business logic with dbt: Implement models, transformations, and business rules using dbt, promoting modularity, reusability, and maintainability of data solutions.

• Data quality and best analytical practices: Apply standards for analytical modeling, validation, and quality control to ensure the consistency, accuracy, and reliability of data.

• Performance and cost optimization: Analyze and enhance SQL queries, data structures, and processes in Snowflake, maximizing performance and optimizing operational costs.

• Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams: Work closely with business, BI, and architecture teams to understand analytical requirements and translate them into high-value technical solutions.

• Technical documentation and data governance: Document models, data lineage, business rules, and developed processes, ensuring traceability, understanding, and maintainability of solutions.

• Version control and solution deployment: Participate in managing deployments across environments, code reviews, and version control, ensuring the quality and stability of developed solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience as a Data Engineer (5+ years), as we are looking for someone with a background in data projects who can contribute technical expertise, autonomy, and best practices from day one.

• Advanced knowledge of SQL, as you will be designing data models, developing complex transformations, and optimizing the performance of queries and analytical processes.

• Solid experience with Snowflake, since a significant portion of our data architecture relies on this platform for modeling, loading, optimization, and efficient information management.

• Experience with dbt, as we develop our transformations and models following a modular, scalable, and maintainable methodology, utilizing tests, documentation, macros, and dependency management.

• Knowledge of analytical modeling, as you will need to design solutions based on dimensional models, data layers, and data marts that effectively address business needs.

• Experience with Git and version control, as we work collaboratively following code review processes, traceability, and controlled deployment.

• Understanding of best development practices and data quality, as reliability, validation, and maintainability of our solutions are key aspects in all projects.

• It would be ideal to have experience with Python, as it may be part of automations, auxiliary processes, and developments within the data ecosystem.

• We would love for you to have worked with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, as some of our projects rely on these environments for data storage, processing, and management.

• It would be great if you have experience with process orchestration tools, as they help us automate, monitor, and efficiently scale our data flows.

• You would truly impress us if you have worked with Airflow, as it is one of the most commonly used tools for managing and scheduling complex data pipelines.
