Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Data Pipeline Support: Contribute to the development and upkeep of scalable ETL/ELT pipelines utilizing AWS Glue, PySpark, and cloud-native services.

• BI Reporting & Visualization: Create and sustain interactive dashboards and reports with Power BI to illustrate cloud costs, performance, and operational metrics for stakeholders.

• AI/ML Assistance: Aid in the development and testing of AI agents and machine learning models aimed at monitoring the health of cloud resources.

• Data Management: Assist in managing data storage, processing, and query performance through the Snowflake cloud data platform and AWS Athena.

• Workflow Orchestration: Acquire skills to orchestrate and oversee data workflows using Apache Airflow DAGs.

• Automation: Support the automation of operational workflows through Python and intelligent scripting.

• Collaboration: Engage in code reviews, team design discussions, and Agile ceremonies to learn best practices and help meet team objectives.

• Documentation: Ensure clear documentation of data processes and help track project progression using tools like Jira.

⛳️ Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree with over 5 years of professional experience in data engineering, software development, or a related area.

• Technical Foundation: Proficient in Python with a basic understanding of SQL.

• BI Skills: Experienced in creating data visualizations and reports using Power BI.

• Interest in AI/ML: Familiarity with or coursework in machine learning libraries (e.g., Scikit-Learn, PyTorch, or TensorFlow).

• Cloud Curiosity: A foundational understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and a keen interest in expanding that knowledge.

• Soft Skills: Excellent communication abilities, a collaborative approach, and a sincere enthusiasm for problem-solving.

• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with DAX and advanced data modeling in Power BI. Involvement in academic or personal projects related to data pipelines, cloud services, or ML model deployment. Familiarity with frontend (Angular) or backend (Flask) development is advantageous. Experience in an Agile setting or knowledge of Jira/Confluence is beneficial.
