Data Curation Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia, +2 more countries.

📋 Description

• Review and revise records for journals and conferences, encompassing scope, publisher, indexing status, and classification metadata.

• Investigate both new and existing journals and conferences to confirm publisher details, subject classification, and authority status through primary sources and established verification methods.

• Handle incoming data change requests and corrections in accordance with documented curation standards.

• Identify anomalies, duplicates, and ambiguous cases to bring to the attention of the relevant team member.

• Keep a record of curation decisions and modifications for traceability purposes.

• Collaborate with colleagues in India-based time zones regarding shared curation queues, handoffs, and inquiries.

• Assist the Journal Selector and Conference Authority product by ensuring the maintenance of accurate and valuable underlying data.

⛳️ Requirements

• Entry-level role requiring 0–2 years of experience in data curation, editorial review, cataloging, library science, or a similar detail-oriented research or data quality position.

• Capable of working independently with large datasets while adhering to defined workflows and standards without the need for constant supervision.

• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to identify data inconsistencies or errors.

• Proficient in researching and verifying information about publishers, journals, or conferences using both primary and secondary sources.

• Fluent and inquisitive in leveraging AI tools to enhance daily productivity while ensuring data quality and meticulousness.

• Possess a mindset geared toward continuous improvement and a willingness to collaborate with the automation team to refine curation processes and lessen manual/administrative tasks.

• Experience with scholarly publishing, academic journals, or bibliographic databases is advantageous but not mandatory.
