Data Center Construction Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Create and uphold construction execution plans, managing and overseeing all facets of on-site operations including civil, electrical, mechanical, structural, and technology infrastructure scopes.

• Track construction progress and implement corrective measures; ensure adherence to all internal and external project processes to guarantee projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and safely.

• Coordinate manpower and subcontractor distribution across various projects; collaborate with Fleet and Equipment teams to ensure resources are effectively allocated.

• Collaborate with QA/QC Management teams to provide sufficient quality oversight, ensuring compliance with data center commissioning standards.

• Conduct daily planning meetings with on-site personnel and prepare progress reports for the Director, detailing project performance in relation to schedule, budget, safety, and quality metrics.

• Assist Human Resources in managing labor relations for both union and non-union workforces as required by project needs.

• Oversee the training and development of field crews, supervisors, and foremen; aid in the recruitment of field supervisory personnel.

• Contribute to the estimating and proposal process by reviewing estimate requirements, submittal packages, pricing, scheduling, and preparing written deliverables.

• Maintain existing client relationships and assist in fostering new customer connections.


⛳️ Requirements

• Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.

• An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be accepted.

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in the construction sector.

• Proven expertise in data center construction, encompassing medium voltage electrical distribution, UPS and standby generation systems, HVAC/cooling infrastructure, structured cabling, and BMS/DCIM systems.

• Demonstrated capability to manage large teams of up to 100 individuals across various disciplines.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and other software applications for reporting and communication.

• A valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.

• Journeyman Electrician designation or equivalent electrical/mechanical trade certification (Preferred).

• Experience in critical facilities construction and commissioning within mission-critical environments (Preferred).

• Professional designation (P.Eng., PMP, or SCMP) or actively working towards one (Preferred).
