This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +3 more states.
• Oversee the comprehensive execution of Start-up, Commissioning, and aftermarket service projects within the Data Center Services Center of Excellence.
• The portfolio encompasses Paralleling Switchgear and Protection & Control projects throughout the U.S. Electrification Service sector.
• Establish clear guidelines, delineate tasks and milestones, and enhance performance through effective coordination, motivation, and feedback.
• Protect and enhance customer satisfaction by ensuring that all requirements, commitments, and project objectives are consistently achieved.
• Provide high-quality service at every phase of the engagement.
• Manage the creation of project planning documents.
• Supervise projects to ensure adherence to best practices in cost management, resource efficiency, and Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) standards.
• Evaluate and mitigate project risks while regularly sharing lessons learned.
• Collaborate with other departments to facilitate contract negotiations and claims with customers.
• Oversee external suppliers to guarantee the availability of equipment, systems, materials, and services.
• Act as an escalation point for project-related issues.
• Fulfill project deliverables and ensure compliance with contract stipulations.
• Foster strong relationships with customers and stakeholders.
• A Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is highly preferred.
• A combination of education and relevant experience may be considered as a substitute.
• 3+ years of experience in the electrical industry as a subject matter expert or project manager, particularly with paralleling switchgear, protection and control systems, electrical energy management systems, or electrical field services in the data center or power generation/distribution markets.
• Proven experience in managing project scope, costs, schedules, and vendors/subcontractors.
• Familiarity with IEC61850, GE Zenith, ABB Protection and Control offerings (ZEE600, SSC600, PCM600 and related relay hardware), Woodward Governor Controls, and/or Envisage energy management solutions is advantageous.
• A collaborative, solution-oriented mindset, along with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Must possess strong written and verbal communication abilities in the English language.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time as necessary to support project initiation and execution or to ensure the successful delivery of assigned projects.
• PMP Certification is a plus.
• Candidates must already possess work authorization that allows them to work for ABB in the U.S.
